With Osi Umenyiora down for the rest of the season my Giants need to either find another pass rusher or someone on the team has to step up and have a break out season.  The Giants had arguably the best defensive line in the NFL before Osi went down.  Now I’m not sure where they stand.  The Giants still have a solid D-line with Justin Tuck, Barry Cofield, and Fred Robbins but they are missing a piece.  Who will be the missing piece to the Giants defensive line?

Michael Strahan is the perfect fit for the Giants, but can they get him to come out of retirement?

Michael wants 8 to 10 million dollars and thats a small price to pay considerng the big whole the Giants have on the defensive line.  The Giants are usually cheap and they don’t like to spend a lot of money unless they absolutely need to.  I would consider this situation a need because Strahan’s leadership a lone will make the Giants a better defensive team.

Other Options:

Mathias Kiwanuka is going to move back to the defensive line looks to be the option right now.  With Strahans return to the team questionable, Kiwanuka looks like the only answer to the Giants current problem. Kiwanuka is orginially a defensive linemen who has recently been trying to convert to linebacker. Kiwanuka was solid in his rookie year on the defensive line and I expect big things out of him this year. This is why we drafted the kid lets see what he can do. Oppurtunity doesn’t knock that often hopefully Kiwanuka can take advantage of this and have a monster season.

Who is the pound for pound best mma fighter in the world right now?

You can argue all night as to who should be known as the pound for pound best fighter in the world. Some say its Fedor, others say its Anderson Silva. I feel there are four fighters right now that are at the top of their game and can equally be called the pound for pound best fighter in the world.

Anderson Silva - He has been lights out. Even though people may argue and say he hasn’t faced the highest level of competition he deserves to be mention as one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world. I would say Anderson lost two rounds since coming to the UFC ( First Round Vs Travis Lutter and First Round vs Dan Henderson) and after those rounds he came out and finished the fight in the next round. Anderson Silva is the best striker in MMA right now and his ground game is top notch. Silva just might be the most complete of a fighter in the world of MMA.

Fedor Emelianenko - Fedor is the best heavyweight in the world and he just dismantled Tim Sylvia, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion in 36 seconds. Fedor is one of the most well rounded fighters in MMA. Fedor can wrestle, grapple and strike. He is excellent in the three major aspects of MMA and there isn’t a heavyweight in site that stands a chance with him right now. A showdown with Randy Couture seems inevitable and hopefully they can get rid of all these legal battles and schedule a date for this historical event.

B.J. Penn - Penn’s ground game is second to none. His only weakness is his conditioning and that seems to be corrected. He’s been focused and in the best shape of his life since dropping down to 155. I can’t see any 155lber beating B.J. Penn right now. Looks like we’ll get to see Penn vs St. Pierre II, now thats going to be a great fight.

Georges St. Pierre - The best welter weight in the world. I can’t see anyone beating St. Pierre at welterweight right now. He dismantled Jon Fitch this weekend and proved that he is on a totally different level. The rest of the welterweight division has a lot of catching up to do. Pierre gets better every time out which is scary. Pierre I’d say is the most complete fighter in MMA right now.

What do all four of these fighters have in common? They are the most well rounded fighters at their respective weight class. If they have any holes in their game you are gonna need a magnifying glass to find them. These guys are complete fighters and that’s what makes them so hard to beat. These four fighters are perfect examples of what every mixed martial artist strives to be.

Barry Bonds one of the greatest players of all-time can’t seem to find a team right now. He’s towards the end of his career but he can still hit the ball. There has to some team out there that will take a chance on Bonds. Whoever does really has nothing to lose except a little bit of cash. If Bond is that bad or out of line in anyway you can just cut him.

Is there any chance either New York team goes after Bonds?

New York Mets: They are on a roll right now. The Mets do need an outfielder and a big bat in the line up but Bond’s isn’t the everyday outfielder the Mets are looking for. Chances of Bonds going to the Mets are slim to none right about now but look for them to be active more and more as the trade deadline approaches.

New York Yankees: The Yanks are also on a roll right now and the injury bug keeps hitting them. They need to pick up someone but Bonds isn’t the answer. They need a right handed bat that can play outfield with a decent arm. Damon’s arm is shot so he needs to DH. Matsui and Posada don’t look like they will return this season. If the Yanks had an open DH I could see them grabbing Bonds but chances of this happening are also slim to none. (They picked up Nady anyway so Bonds is definitely not coming to New York.)

If anything a smaller market team should go after Bonds. Bonds brings a circus with him so it will at least boost the attendance of their stadium. I would like to see Bonds land on a team this season. I feel he can still hit and can offer a team help at a DH spot or play a little outfield. Whoever gets Bonds will get a little boost to their offense thats for sure.

Good Luck to Bonds maybe he will land on a team this season.
